The Indiana Nurse Practice Act is the law that governs the practice of nursing for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses in the state of Indiana. All nurses must conduct their nursing practice within the parameters of this law regardless of their practice setting.

Because school nursing practice is conducted within the education environment, school nurses must know and understand their nurse practice act.
